Our hospital directory is divided into three sections, and you can choose from two levels of cover, Partnership or Extended.

Partnership hospitals

These include a wide range of partnership and NHS hospitals from across the whole of the UK. There is also a section of London hospitals that specialise in cardiac and neurology services. These hospitals have been recognised as having reasonable charges and a wide range of facilities suitable for the Partnership hospital list. If you choose the Partnership level of cover, you are only able to select a hospital from the Partnership hospital list.

Extended hospitals

For those who wish to receive their treatment from a selection of more expensive London hospitals, the Extended hospital list may be more appropriate. If you choose the Extended level of cover, you will be able to select hospitals from both the Partnership and Extended lists.

 

Diagnostic and Scanning Units

These specialist centres are available to both Partnership and Extended members. We have selected these centres because they provide a range of diagnostic scanning and other services at competitive rates. Other hospitals may be able to provide these services, but not at such competitive rates. This may be important to those members with co-payment schemes who will be part funding their treatment.

 

In the event that you choose to use a hospital not on our lists, or in an Extended hospital if you have Partnership cover, we will pay up to the costs of an admission for a procedure or medical case in a hospital which would have been available to you. Any additional costs will be your responsibility, this benefit is referred to as the 'out of band' benefit.

 

However, if you need to use a hospital which does not appear on the list because it is the only one that offers the necessary treatment you require, we will meet the cost of your eligible treatment subject to pre-authorisation.
